We are incredibly proud to announce our London-based Design Director, Paul O’Brien, will be joining the esteemed panel judging the Design and Industry Craft categories at this year’s Eurobest Awards!
Paul is a Design Director at Elmwood London, bringing a wealth of experience across 9 years in the industry working for some of the most iconic design agencies globally, including JKR, Design Bridge, Bulletproof, Bloom, and Taxi Studio. After obtaining his Bachelors in Graphic Communications with Typography from Plymouth University, Paul has worked his way up from Junior Designer to Design Director and been involved in industry-leading work for Kelloggs, Heinz, Stella Artois, Pret a Manger, Bulk Nutrition and Dolmio along the way. Looking to get a new perspective in the industry, Paul jumped into the freelance world in 2021 and worked for several Tier 1 design agencies on award-winning projects such as Taxi Studio’s recent rebrand of Byron Burgers, which was awarded a D&AD Pencil. Alongside his day job at Elmwood, Paul takes part in as many portfolio reviews as possible to support emerging talent in the industry, including an annual visit to Plymouth University to speak to current students. He also mentors incoming talent together with The Arena, providing his mentees with support to break into the creative sector. When he’s not designing, Paul tries to keep in touch with all the current trends in the market and spotting emerging trends across multiple categories, bringing added layers of depth to each of his projects. With 9 years of knowledge gained working at industry-leading agencies, Paul brings a refreshing approach to design. Driven by strategy and insight, he combines traditional design codes with cross-category emerging trends, resulting in elevated brand DMS and amplified creative principles.
