Born out of a mission to create health equity for American Indians and Alaska Natives, Indigenous Pact offers a supportive healthcare infrastructure which connects Tribal Nations and dedicates itself to improving the health of Indigenous People. Elmwood New York had the honor to partner with the organization to co-craft a powerful new delivery model designed to transform health outcomes for the millions of American Indians and Alaska Natives within America’s 574 federally recognized tribes and drive a stronger voice for Tribal Nations healthcare.
The Tension
Indigenous People have experienced a long history of endemic barriers affecting the provision of quality healthcare, including economic adversity, rural isolation, cultural differences, and a chronic shortage of medical personnel. When our team was approached to help co-create a brand refresh which translated the founders’ belief that this crisis in health equity can only be overcome via a strong, united platform of Native American healthcare advocacy, as well as help launch a new brand identity of its Community Care services, we turned to one of America’s richest indigenous art forms – quiltwork.
